Consultant website design

When you sell expertise, the buyer is buying you. They read your site to decide whether you understand their problem, whether you have solved it before, and whether you are worth an hour of their time. A consultant or coach website has one job: get that first call booked with the right person.

Short answer

A consultant or coach website needs a clear statement of who you help and with what, a page for each service, real case studies or testimonials, an honest "how I work" page that gives an idea of cost, and a book-a-call button on every page. We build that for £449 setup and £39 a month (Launch) for a solo consultant or coach, or £949 and £59 (Grow) for a small firm with several services.

What a buyer checks before booking a call

  1. Do you help people like me? Name the businesses, roles or situations you work with. "Leaders" or "businesses" is too broad to persuade anyone.
  2. With what problem? The outcome you deliver, in the client's words, not a list of methods.
  3. Have you done it before? Case studies with the situation, what you did and what changed, and testimonials with names, used with permission.
  4. Who are you? A real photo, your background, and a link to your LinkedIn profile.
  5. How does it work and what does it cost? The engagement, the steps, and either prices or a sensible range.

Should consultants publish prices?

Many consultants and coaches hide their fees and then spend calls with people who cannot afford them. Publishing packages, a day rate or a "projects typically start from" figure filters those calls out and makes the ones you do get more serious. If your work is too varied for a price list, explain how you price and what drives the cost. Either is better than silence.

Rules worth knowing

A summary, not legal advice:

  • Limited companies must show their details online. The Trading Disclosures Regulations 2015 require every company to show its registered name, registered number, where it is registered and its registered office address on its website. We put them in the footer.
  • Selling packages online to individuals. If people can buy coaching from your site, GOV.UK's distance selling guidance applies, including telling customers about their right to cancel and giving the total price before they order.
  • Testimonials. Use real ones, from real clients, with their permission. Never write them yourself.

What we build for coaches and consultants

  • A home page that says who you help and with what in the first screen.
  • A page for each service or programme, so each can be found on its own.
  • Case studies laid out as situation, approach and result.
  • A "how I work" page with your process and pricing or price guide.
  • Call booking embedded from the scheduling tool you already use, on every page.
  • Google Business Profile set up if you work with clients in a local area.

Every tier is on our prices page, and the wider market is in what a website costs.

Example: an independent business coach or consultant

£449 setup, then £39 a month (Launch)
  • Five pages: home, services, case studies, about, book a call
  • Call booking embedded from your scheduling tool
  • Company details in the footer if you trade as a limited company
  • New case studies and testimonials added as edits, up to 4 requests a month

Fixed price. No long-term contract. You own your domain and content.

Questions people ask

How much does a consultant website cost?

Ours is £449 setup and £39 a month for a solo consultant or coach, or £949 and £59 for a small firm, including hosting and edits. Published UK prices for a freelancer-built site run from about £500 to £3,000, plus hosting.

Should a coach put prices on their website?

Usually, yes, or at least a starting point. It filters out calls with people who cannot afford you and makes the conversations you do have more productive.

Can people book a call straight from the site?

Yes. We embed the scheduling tool you already use, so a call can be booked from any page.

Do you write the copy?

Yes, from a conversation with you. The words are where a consultant's site wins or loses, so we spend most of the time there.
