Wix pricing in the UK

Wix has a free plan and four paid ones. The free plan is fine for trying it out, but not for a business. Here is what each paid plan costs in pounds and where the real differences are.

Short answer

Wix's paid plans cost from about £9 a month (Light, annual billing) to £119 a month (Business Elite), according to UK pricing published by Startups.co.uk and Wise. You need a paid plan to use your own domain and remove Wix branding. To take payments you need Core or above, from about £16 a month on annual billing.

Core£19£16£14£12

Business Elite£129£119£85£77

Per month, as published by Startups.co.uk, with the yearly figures matching Wise's UK guide. Wix sets prices by location and its own plans page did not show us UK prices, and one other UK source quotes slightly higher figures (around £10.50 for Light), so check wix.com/plans for the price you will pay.

What the free plan leaves out

You can build a whole site on Wix for free, but it lives on a wixsite.com address and shows Wix branding. A paid plan is what lets you connect your own domain and remove the branding, which any business will want. Paid plans also come with a 14-day money-back guarantee.

Which plan a business needs

  • Light covers a simple site with your own domain. It cannot take payments.
  • Core adds payments, basic ecommerce, and scheduling and services, which matters if customers book appointments.
  • Business adds more storage and standard ecommerce for a growing shop.
  • Business Elite is aimed at larger, high-volume sellers.

The costs on top of the plan

  • Domain after year one. Yearly plans include a voucher for a free domain for the first year, valid only for a new domain bought through Wix. It renews at the normal price after that.
  • Apps. Some features come from paid apps in the Wix App Market.
  • Email. A Google Workspace address on your domain is a separate purchase.

When Wix is enough, and when it is not

Wix is a good choice if you want to build and edit the site yourself and like dragging things around a page. Where it runs out is the work around the design: writing pages that answer customers' questions, structuring the site so each service can be found, and keeping it current. That is the part our packages cover, from £449 setup and £39 a month.
